§ 58745 Commodity Marketing Agreements

Key Takeaways

  • •The boss in charge can make deals with people who handle stuff like food or goods to set rules on how to prepare and sell them.
  • •These deals only apply to the people who sign them, not everyone.
  • •Before making a deal, the boss has to tell people about it and give them a chance to talk about it first.

Example

A group of farmers and a grocery store chain agree on how to package and sell apples.

The boss in charge can make a deal with the farmers and the grocery stores about how the apples should be washed, packed, and sold. Only the farmers and stores that sign the deal have to follow these rules. The boss has to tell everyone about the deal and let them share their thoughts before it’s final.
