§ 58382 Agricultural Product Disposal Permits

Key Takeaways

  • •If you get farm stuff (like fruits or veggies) to sell for someone else, you can't just throw it away or dump it.
  • •You need a special paper (permit) from the right person (like a health officer) to throw away farm stuff.
  • •You have to keep that special paper and write down what you threw away and why.

Example

A grocery store gets a big box of apples from a farmer to sell, but the apples go bad.

The store can't just throw the bad apples in the trash. They need to get a permit first, then write down how many apples they threw away and keep that permit.
