§ 53482 Nursery Stock Labeling Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •Every plant sold or sent to a buyer must have its own label with the correct name.
  • •The person in charge can make exceptions to this rule if needed.

Example

You buy a small tree from a garden store to plant in your backyard.

The tree must have a tag or label on it that says exactly what kind of tree it is, like 'Apple Tree' or 'Oak Tree'. If it doesn’t have a label, the store is breaking the rules.
