§ 52942 Cotton Assessment Enforcement Uses

• •Money collected from this assessment can only be used for enforcing the rules in this chapter.
• •The money can also be used for testing cotton types and paying for related office costs.
• •This rule was added in 1978 and might stop working on January 1, 2014, depending on another rule.

A farmer grows cotton and pays a small fee as part of this law.

The fee the farmer pays can’t be used for just anything—it has to go toward checking cotton types or making sure the rules about cotton are followed. It can’t be used to fix roads or build schools.
