§ 52005 Railroad Field Crop Inspection

Key Takeaways

  • •Railroads must provide special tracks (sidetracks) at places where crops are inspected.
  • •These sidetracks must be easy to use and set up for inspecting crop cars.
  • •Every car with crops that needs checking must be placed on these sidetracks when it arrives.

Example

A train brings a car full of wheat to a town where crop inspectors work.

The railroad must put the wheat car on a special track so inspectors can easily check it. If they don’t, they’re breaking the law.
