§ 46009 Late Registration Fee Penalty

• •If you don't pay your registration fee on time, you'll have to pay extra.
• •You get 10 days after the due date to pay without any penalty.
• •If you're late, you pay a 10% penalty on the total amount you owe.
• •You also pay 1.5% interest every month on the amount you haven't paid yet.

You forget to pay your car registration fee on time.

If your car registration fee is due on June 1st, you have until June 10th to pay it without any extra charges. If you pay on June 15th, you'll have to pay the original fee plus a 10% penalty and 1.5% interest for the month of June.
