§ 45021 Avocado Inspection Authority Delegation

Key Takeaways

  • •The California Avocado Commission can handle tasks like setting fees, inspecting avocados, and training inspectors instead of the director if they get permission.
  • •The director still has the power to enforce rules but must work with the commission if they are in charge.
  • •Any money the director spends on these duties must be paid back using fees collected from avocado-related activities.

Example

A farmer wants to sell avocados at the market.

The California Avocado Commission might check the avocados and charge a fee instead of the director. If the director has to step in to make sure rules are followed, they will work with the commission and get paid back from the fees collected.
