§ 42809 Commodity Advisory Committee Appointment

Key Takeaways

  • •A group of 13 people is picked to help make rules about fruits and vegetables.
  • •These people must work with or own farms that grow things like oranges, strawberries, broccoli, or tomatoes.
  • •They meet when the boss, the group leader, or 4 members ask for a meeting.
  • •If a fruit or veggie they represent is no longer part of the rules, they get replaced.

Example

A farmer who grows strawberries is chosen to be on the group.

This farmer helps decide how the rules for selling strawberries should work. If strawberries are later not part of the rules, the farmer is replaced by someone else who grows something still covered by the rules.
