§ 41361 Unwholesome Canned Produce Ban

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't sell fruits or veggies that are dirty, too young, moldy, too ripe, or have bugs/diseases that make them gross or bad to eat.
  • •Olives can't be sold if they're dirty, moldy, too ripe, or have fungus/rot that makes them yucky.
  • •Olives can't be sold if they're dyed or processed so much that they turn black or taste bad.

Example

You go to the store and see a can of olives that look super dark and taste weird because they were dyed too much.

Those olives can't be sold because the law says you can't sell olives that are turned black or taste bad from too much processing or dye.
