§ 39722 Uht Milk Fat Standards

• •Reduced-fat UHT milk can't have more than 2.1% fat and must have at least 8.25% other milk stuff (not fat).
• •Lowfat or 'light' UHT milk can't have more than 1.2% fat and must also have at least 8.25% other milk stuff (not fat).
• •These rules make sure milk sold as 'reduced-fat' or 'lowfat' really is what it says on the label.

You buy a carton of milk labeled 'lowfat UHT milk' at the store.

The milk must have 1.2% fat or less, and at least 8.25% of other milk parts (like protein and sugar). If it has more fat, it’s breaking the rules.
