§ 35227 Butter Cutting Wrapping Fees

Key Takeaways

  • •If you have a permit to cut and wrap butter, you must pay a fee every three months.
  • •The fee is $1 plus 20 cents for every 1,000 pounds of butter you cut and wrap over 5,000 pounds.
  • •You pay this fee in the first week of March, June, September, and December.
  • •The fee is based on how much butter you handled in the last three months.

Example

A small butter shop cuts and wraps 7,000 pounds of butter in three months.

They must pay $1 plus 20 cents for the extra 2,000 pounds (since the first 5,000 pounds are not charged extra). So, they pay $1 + $0.40 = $1.40.
