§ 29677 Honey Labeling Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't sell fake or mixed honey as pure honey.
  • •If honey is not pure, the label must clearly say what's in it.
  • •Honey must come from bees collecting flower nectar—nothing else.

Example

A store sells a jar labeled 'honey' but it's actually half corn syrup.

This is illegal because the jar doesn't say it's mixed with other stuff, and it's not real honey from bees.
