§ 29614 Honey Crystallization Grading Rule

Key Takeaways

  • •If honey is hard or crystallized, it must be melted before checking its quality.
  • •The quality of honey is judged when it's in liquid form, not when it's hard.
  • •This rule helps make sure honey is checked the same way every time.

Example

You buy a jar of honey that looks hard and solid, not liquid.

The person checking the honey must warm it up to turn it back into liquid before deciding if it's good quality.
