§ 29102 Bee Protection Pesticide Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •The government makes rules to protect bees from harmful bug sprays.
  • •These rules can apply to the whole state or just certain areas.
  • •Beekeepers must tell others when they move their beehives in these areas.
  • •Farmers must warn beekeepers before spraying bug spray near flowers.

Example

A farmer wants to spray bug spray on their orange trees while they are blooming.

The farmer must check the rules to see if they need to tell nearby beekeepers first. If the rules say they have to warn them, the farmer must do it before spraying. This helps keep the bees safe.
