§ 29051 Wooden Equipment Branding Rules

• •If you put a serial number on wooden equipment, it must be burned into the wood.
• •The numbers must be at least half an inch tall.
• •For hive bodies (like beehives), the number goes on the upper left corner.
• •For frames, the number goes on the top bars, either burned or stenciled.

A beekeeper builds wooden beehives and wants to mark them with serial numbers.

The beekeeper must burn the serial number into the upper left corner of each hive body, making sure the numbers are at least half an inch tall. If they have frames, the numbers can be burned or stenciled on the top bars.
