§ 241 Administrative Cost Allocation

Key Takeaways

  • •The boss of a big group can make smaller groups pay their fair share for help they get from the big group.
  • •The amount they pay should be fair and match the help they actually get.
  • •This is only for groups that don’t get their money from the main money pot.

Example

Imagine a big school has a main office that helps all the clubs. One club, the Chess Club, gets its money from bake sales, not from the school’s main budget.

The school can ask the Chess Club to pay a little money to the main office for the help they get, like using the school’s printers or getting help organizing events. The amount they pay should be fair, like only paying for what they actually use.
