§ 23251 Branding Horses And Sheep

• •If you want to brand horses, mules, burros, or sheep, you have to follow the same rules as branding cattle.
• •The rules for branding these animals are in Chapter 4 of Division 10 of the law.
• •There is one exception: Section 20668 does not apply to these animals.

A farmer wants to brand their sheep to show ownership.

The farmer must follow the same steps and rules as they would for branding cattle, like registering the brand and using it correctly. But they don’t have to worry about the rule in Section 20668.
