§ 21236 Brand Inspection Certificate Validity

Key Takeaways

  • •If you change or mess up a brand inspection certificate, it becomes invalid.
  • •Only an inspector can write on the certificate to update the number of cattle sold.
  • •The inspector must sign and date any changes they make to the certificate.

Example

A farmer sells some cows and tries to update the brand inspection certificate himself by crossing out the old number and writing the new one.

This certificate is now invalid because the farmer changed it. Only an inspector can update the number of cows sold, and they must sign and date the change.
