§ 15051 Commercial Feed Licensing Requirements

This law says anyone who makes, sells, or stores animal feed for business must get a license. Even if you don’t have a store, you still need one if you sell feed.

Key Takeaways

  • •You need a license if you make, sell, or store animal feed for business.
  • •Even if you don’t have a store, you still need a license if you sell feed.
  • •You don’t need a license if you only sell feed that already has a license tag or if you make feed just for your own animals.

Example

A farmer sells bags of special cow feed at the local market.

The farmer must get a license from the state because they are selling animal feed, even if they don’t have a permanent store.
