§ 7226 Presidential Primary Committee Allocation

Key Takeaways

  • •The person in charge of elections must count how many people from each area can be on the committee.
  • •This counting must be done by January 31 before the presidential primary election.
  • •The counting is done for each Assembly district or supervisor district.

Example

Imagine your town is divided into smaller areas called districts. Before the big election to pick the president, the election boss has to figure out how many people from each district can be on a special committee.

The election boss must do this counting by January 31. So, if the presidential primary is in March, the boss has to finish counting by the end of January.
