§ 6765 Presidential Delegate Endorsement Requirement

Key Takeaways

  • •If a group of people wants to support a specific person running for president, they need that person's permission first.
  • •The group must get this permission in writing and send it to the Secretary of State.
  • •They have to do this before they start collecting signatures or campaigning for that person.

Example

A group of friends wants to help their favorite politician become president.

Before they can start collecting signatures or telling others to vote for this politician, they must get a written 'okay' from the politician and send it to the Secretary of State. If they don’t, their work won’t count.
