§ 6341 Candidate Ballot Withdrawal Notice

• •If the Secretary of State puts a candidate's name on the ballot for the presidential primary election, they must tell the candidate about it.
• •The candidate can choose to remove their name from the ballot by filling out a special form and giving it to the Secretary of State.
• •The candidate must do this at least 68 days before the election.

Imagine you want to run for president, and your name is put on the ballot for the primary election in your state.

The Secretary of State will tell you that your name is on the ballot. If you change your mind and don't want to run anymore, you can fill out a form to take your name off the ballot. But you have to do this at least 68 days before the election happens.
