§ 3108 Military Voter Late Registration

Key Takeaways

  • •Military or overseas voters can register to vote after the normal deadline if they just got out of service or had to move because of military orders.
  • •To register late, they must show proof, like papers saying they were released from service or official military orders.
  • •The voting office must give a list of these late-registered voters to the polling place by election day.

Example

A soldier finishes their service on October 15th, but the voter registration deadline was October 10th. They return home and want to vote in the upcoming election.

The soldier can still register to vote after the deadline because they were in the military. They just need to show proof they were released after the deadline.
