§ 2200 Permanent Voter Registration

Key Takeaways

  • •Once you sign up to vote, you stay signed up forever unless something special happens.
  • •Only the Secretary of State or your local voting office can cancel your sign-up.
  • •They can only cancel it for specific reasons listed in the rules.

Example

You move to a new house in the same town.

Your voter sign-up stays active even after you move, unless the voting office cancels it for a good reason (like if you move out of the state).
