§ 2155 Voter Registration Notification

Key Takeaways

  • •If you register to vote or change your address, the county will send you a letter in the mail to confirm your info.
  • •The letter will show your political party (if you picked one) and tell you why they sent it (new registration, address change, or party change).
  • •If the info on the letter is wrong, you need to call or write to the county office to fix it.
  • •You can vote in any election that happens 15 or more days after the date on the letter.

Example

You move to a new apartment and update your address with the DMV. A few weeks later, you get a letter in the mail from the county.

The letter says your new address is updated and shows your political party. It also says you can vote in the next election if it's at least 15 days away. If your address is wrong on the letter, you need to call the county to fix it.
