§ 14241 Residency Challenge Evidence Rules

This law says you can't use a returned mail by itself to prove someone doesn't live at an address. You need more proof.

Key Takeaways

  • •Returned mail alone can't prove someone doesn't live somewhere.
  • •You need other evidence, like testimony or more documents, to challenge residency.
  • •This rule is for precinct boards (like voting or local government groups).

Example

Someone tries to say their neighbor doesn't live in the neighborhood because a letter was sent back.

Just showing the returned mail isn't enough—they need other proof, like a witness or more documents.
