§ 11324 Recall Election Voter Guide

• •The ballot official must mail a voter guide at least 10 days before a recall election.
• •The guide must go to every registered voter in the area of the officer being recalled.
• •If the recall is for a state officer, the guide must also include a cost estimate report from the Department of Finance.

A city council member is being recalled. The election official sends a voter information guide to every registered voter in that city 10 days before the recall vote.

The guide tells voters about the recall and, because the council member is a local officer, it does not need to include a cost estimate. If the recall were for a state official, the guide would also have a report showing how much the recall would cost.
