§ 94890 Accredited Institution Approval Process

Key Takeaways

  • •If a school is already approved by a trusted group (accredited), the state will let it operate without extra checks.
  • •The school must apply to the state, and the state has 30 days to review and approve it.
  • •The school’s permission to operate lasts as long as its accreditation lasts.
  • •The school must still follow all other state rules for schools.

Example

A college gets approved by a big education group. Now it wants to open in California.

The college tells the state about its approval, and the state quickly says 'yes' to let it start teaching students. But the college still has to follow all other California school rules.
