§ 89707 Nonresident Graduate Tuition Waivers

Key Takeaways

  • •Out-of-state or foreign graduate students with good grades and financial need can get a discount on their tuition.
  • •The student must either work at least 20 hours a week for the university or be a full-time student.
  • •Only up to 25% of all out-of-state graduate students can get this discount at the same time.

Example

A student from Brazil is studying for a master's degree in California. They have great grades but not much money. They work 20 hours a week at the university library.

The university can lower their tuition because they meet the rules: good grades, financial need, and working enough hours.
