§ 87423 Employee Exchange Rights Protection

Key Takeaways

  • •If a community college worker takes a temporary job swap, they keep their original job rights.
  • •Their time in the swapped job still counts toward their retirement and job status.
  • •They don’t lose any benefits or pay rules from their original job.

Example

A teacher at a community college takes a one-year job swap to teach at another school.

Even though they’re teaching somewhere else for a year, they still keep their original job title, retirement benefits, and pay rules. The year they spent teaching at the other school still counts toward their retirement and job status.
