§ 76225 Student Record Transfer Rights

(a) Whenever a student transfers from one community college or public or private institution of postsecondary education to another within the state, appropriate records or a copy of appropriate records shall be transferred by the former community college, or college or university upon a request from the student. Any community college, college, or university making a transfer of these records shall notify the student of the student’s right to receive a copy of the record and the student’s right to a hearing to challenge the content of the record. (b) The board of governors may adopt rules and regulations concerning the transfer of records pursuant to subdivision (a) to, from, or between colleges under its jurisdiction. (c) Using available funding apportioned to their community college district pursuant to Section 84750.4, community colleges enrolling high school pupils through dual or concurrent enrollment pursuant to Sections 48800 and 76001, shall use eTranscript California, also referred to as “eTranscriptCA,” or its successor system, to enable the uniform integration of the pupil’s completed courses and grades received into the pupil’s universal and electronic high school transcript that is housed on the CaliforniaColleges.edu platform.
