§ 69989 Scholarshare Trust Financial Audit

Key Takeaways

  • •The Scholarshare trust must send a yearly money report by October 31 to important state people like the Governor.
  • •The report must be checked by an outside money expert to make sure it’s correct.
  • •The report must show all costs, including money paid to people who are not state workers.
  • •The report must also include extra info like studies, how many people use the Scholarshare trust, and other important details.

Example

Imagine the Scholarshare trust is like a big piggy bank for college savings.

Every year, the people in charge of the piggy bank must count all the money, show where it went, and prove they didn’t spend it wrong. They have to send this report to the Governor and others by October 31, and an outside expert must check it first.
