§ 67307 Student Disability Reader Services

• •If you're a student with a disability at a California State University, you can get help with reading stuff for your classes.
• •The school will give you a person to read things like books, handouts, or research papers that aren't already in audio format.
• •You and the school will figure out together how many hours of help you need each week. Usually, it's at least 1.5 hours for each class you take.

A student who is blind takes 4 classes and needs help reading textbooks and handouts.

The school will give the student a reader to help with the class materials. They'll try to give at least 1.5 hours of help for each class every week, so that's 6 hours total. But if the student needs more or less time, they can talk about it. The school will do their best but it also depends on how much money they have.
