§ 59300 State School Funding Responsibility

• •If a kid goes to a special school run by the state (not just during the day), their home school district has to pay extra money to that school.
• •The home district pays 10% of the extra cost it takes to teach that kid at the special school.
• •This only applies to kids who live at the special school, not kids who just go there for the day.

A child from City A goes to a special state school in City B and lives there. The special school costs more money to teach this child than a regular school would.

City A has to pay the special school 10% of the extra cost it takes to teach this child.
