§ 51791 Aviation Education Curriculum Guidelines

Key Takeaways

  • •Schools are encouraged to teach kids about flying and airplanes in fun ways.
  • •Little kids learn about flying in science, math, and social studies.
  • •Middle schoolers get to learn about flying in science, math, and social studies too.
  • •High schoolers can take special classes about flying, like how planes work, the history of flying, and even try flying if there are planes and pilots available.

Example

A high school offers a class where students learn about how airplanes fly and even get to take a ride in a small plane with a pilot.

This is exactly what the law wants—high schools teaching kids about flying and giving them real experiences if they can.
