§ 49465 Private Sector Funding Requirement

Key Takeaways

  • •This law only starts working when there's enough money from private companies and the state to pay for everything it requires.
  • •California State University has to tell everyone involved (like schools and other agencies) when there's enough money to start.
  • •No school has to join the program unless they get paid back for all their costs.
  • •The state will only add money up to $120,000 per year, and only after private companies have given enough money first.

Example

Imagine your school wants to start a new after-school program, but it needs money to run it.

The program can only start if there's enough money from donations and the school district. The school won't have to pay for anything out of its own pocket. If there isn't enough money, the program waits until there is.
