§ 48802 Community College Attendance Funding

Key Takeaways

  • •Community colleges get extra money from the state for students who go there part-time while still in high school.
  • •High schools still get their usual money for these students, even if they spend part of their day at a community college.
  • •A student only needs to be at their high school for the minimum school day to count as present for the day.

Example

A high school student takes a morning class at their high school and an afternoon class at a community college.

The high school still gets money from the state for that student as if they were there all day, and the community college gets extra money for having that student part-time.
