§ 45245 Personnel Commission Appointments

Key Takeaways

  • •The school district's board picks one person for the personnel commission.
  • •The school workers (like janitors or bus drivers) pick someone, and the board approves them.
  • •Those two people then pick a third person to join the commission.
  • •If there's no group representing the workers, the board makes a rule for how the workers can suggest someone.

Example

Imagine a school district needs to form a group to handle worker issues.

The school board picks one person. The janitors and bus drivers (the biggest group of workers) suggest someone, and the board approves them. Then, those two pick a third person to complete the group. If the workers don’t have a leader, the school board makes a rule so the workers can still suggest someone.
