§ 45222 Applicability After Election

Key Takeaways

  • •If an election passes, certain rules for school workers (like janitors or bus drivers) start applying to them.
  • •These rules fully kick in once at least two people are picked for a special group that makes decisions about these workers.
  • •The special group can use the school’s old rules for these workers until they make new ones, as long as the old rules don’t break any laws.

Example

A school district holds an election, and the voters agree to give classified employees (like cafeteria workers) more rights and protections.

After the election passes, the rules in Article 6 start applying to these workers. Once two people are chosen for the personnel commission, all the rules become fully active. The commission can use the old school rules for these workers until they create new ones.
