§ 42632 School District Order Signing

Key Takeaways

  • •School money can only be spent if most of the school board agrees or if they pick someone to sign for them.
  • •Only school workers can be allowed to sign for spending school money, not outsiders.
  • •This rule makes sure school money is spent carefully and only by the right people.

Example

The school principal wants to buy new computers for the classrooms.

The principal can't just decide alone. Most of the school board must agree and sign the order, or they must have given permission to someone (like the principal) to sign. If the principal isn't allowed and signs anyway, it's against the rules.
