§ 37610 School District Continuous Programs

Key Takeaways

  • •School boards can decide to run schools all year without long breaks.
  • •They must tell the state's education boss before starting this kind of schedule.
  • •This rule can apply to just one school or every school in the district.

Example

A school district wants to try a new schedule where kids go to school for a few weeks, then get a short break, all year long instead of one long summer break.

The school board can do this, but they have to let the state's education leader know first. They can pick just one school to try it or make all schools in the area follow this new schedule.
