§ 35034 County Superintendent Dual Role

Key Takeaways

  • •In some counties, the county school boss can also be the boss of the big school district if they have the right papers.
  • •If the county school boss was already doing both jobs before September 20, 1963, they can keep doing it without the special papers.
  • •If a big school district was made and covers almost the whole county, the county school boss at that time can become the big school district boss without the special papers.

Example

Imagine a county where all the schools are run by one big school district. The county school boss, who has the right papers, can also become the boss of that big school district.

This means one person can have two jobs: being in charge of all schools in the county and also being in charge of the big school district. They get paid extra for the second job.
