§ 25016 Disability Benefit Payment Options

Key Takeaways

  • •If you get hurt and can't work, you get money from your special account.
  • •You can choose to get all the money at once, in small monthly payments, or a mix of both.
  • •If you take all the money at once, you or your family can't get any more money from this account later.

Example

Imagine you work at a factory and hurt your back so badly that you can't work anymore.

The money you saved in your special work account will be given to you. You can choose to get it all now to pay for your medical bills, or get a little every month to help pay rent, or do both.
