§ 24009 Child Portion Disability Reduction

• •If a disabled person gets money for their kids, the amount can go down if a kid no longer qualifies for help.
• •The money won’t drop below what the disabled person would have gotten if they never had kids in the first place.
• •Any raises in the money over time are considered when reducing the amount.

A disabled parent gets $1,500 a month, including $500 for their child. The child turns 18 and no longer qualifies for the extra money.

The parent’s payment will drop, but not below what they would have gotten without the child’s portion. If they would have gotten $1,000 alone, they won’t get less than that.
