§ 19972 Library Bond Committee Authority

Key Takeaways

  • •A special group called the 'California Library Construction and Renovation Finance Committee' is created to handle money for fixing and building libraries.
  • •This group has three people: the Treasurer, the State Librarian, and the Director of Finance (or someone they choose to take their place).
  • •The Treasurer is in charge of this group.
  • •The group can make decisions even if not all members are there, as long as most of them agree.

Example

Imagine your local library is old and needs repairs, like a new roof or better computers.

This group decides how to use the money from special bonds (like a loan) to pay for these repairs. They work together to make sure libraries across California get the upgrades they need.
