§ 19964 Project Cost Grant Limits

Key Takeaways

  • •Project costs should match what's normal for public construction in your area.
  • •If your project costs more than normal, you can still apply for a grant, but it won't cover more than 65% of the normal cost.
  • •You must prove you can pay the rest of the costs yourself if you want the grant.

Example

A school wants to build a new gym that costs way more than other gyms in the area.

The school can still ask for a grant, but the grant will only pay up to 65% of what a normal gym costs. The school has to show they can pay the extra money themselves.
