  • •This law says grant money cannot be used to buy books or other library stuff.
  • •The money also can't be used for things like filling out forms, getting more money, or running elections to approve the project.
  • •You can't use the money to pay for interest on loans or other costs related to borrowing money for the project.
  • •The money can't be used for everyday costs like paying workers, buying supplies, or running the library.

Example

A town gets grant money to build a new library.

The town cannot use this money to buy books, pay for the people who work at the library, or cover the cost of interest on a loan they took out to build the library. They can only use the money for building the library, not for running it.
