§ 1900 Prisoner Education Programs

The county superintendent of schools, with the approval of the county board of education and the board of supervisors, shall have power to establish and maintain classes or schools for prisoners in any county jail, county honor farm, or any county industrial farm or county or joint county road camp, for the purpose of providing instruction in civic, vocational, literacy, health, family and consumer sciences, technical, and general education. (Amended by Stats. 2019, Ch. 543, Sec. 1. (AB 1595) Effective January 1, 2020.)
