§ 18558 Voter Approval Required

Key Takeaways

  • •If someone asks the county board for something big (like a petition), the board can't just say yes.
  • •The board has to let all the voters in the area decide first, like a big vote.
  • •The vote works the same way as other important votes in the area.

Example

A group of people want to change how their local park is used, so they file a petition with the county board.

The board can't just approve the change. They have to let everyone in the area vote on it first, just like in other big decisions.
