§ 1770 County School Library Services

Key Takeaways

  • •The county school boss can take over school library services from the county library if the county leaders agree.
  • •Schools that didn’t join the county library before can still make a deal with the county school boss for library services.
  • •The county school boss must hire a real librarian with the right papers and helpers to run the library.
  • •The money for the library, like salaries and books, comes from a special county school fund.

Example

A small school district never signed up for the county library’s book service.

Now, the school district can make a deal with the county school boss to get library books and services, even if they didn’t join before. The county school boss will hire a librarian and helpers, and the cost will be paid from the county school fund.
